Railway Modernization
The modernization of the railway in Kladno is progressing to its next stage. The high-speed rail, designed to connect Prague's city center with the Václav Havel Airport and Kladno, will run through a tunnel under Střešovice, with an estimated cost of 31 billion CZK.
The work began in the fall two years ago. At Kladno station, part of the track near the station building has been rebuilt. "A pedestrian underpass is being constructed, and a platform has been created. Additionally, work is underway on a new underpass beneath the tracks at Wolkerova Street. Retaining walls are being built on Sportovců Street and Klikorkova Street. In Kladno-Ostrovec, we are working on a technically challenging relocation of the heating pipeline," said Jiří Svoboda, General Director of the Railway Administration.
Highway Expansion
One of the key projects this year involves the expansion of the highway, which will significantly improve road connectivity and ease traffic congestion in the region.
These projects represent a substantial investment in Kladno’s infrastructure, aiming to enhance the area's connectivity and support future growth and development.
